Water Withdrawal and Reuse
ATX Group adopts three water use strategies: reduce, reuse, and recycle. The main source of water-use is tap water, with a total withdrawal of 1.336 million tons in 2023, an increase of 1.0% in water withdrawal compared to the previous year. As a result of the business impact, efficiency decreases, water intensity (including rainwater) per unit of revenue increased by 19% compared to the previous year.
For the recycling of water resources, ATX Suzhou and Kunshan have set up "water recycling system" to treat wastewater that meets the local regulations and discharge standards, and recycle it to the water recycling system for re-treatment to pure water level, supplying to the plant for recycling and reducing 80% of the wastewater, which significantly reduces the pressure of water consumption and wastewater discharges. The total expenditure for water recycling and reuse in the Suzhou plant in 2023 is 1.784 million, including capital expenditure and operating costs. We are committed to continuing to invest in water recycling at each of our plants, and are working towards improving the use of water in a circular economy.
Wastewater Management
A total of 1.176 million tons of wastewater was discharged in 2023, with a total loss of 0.16 million tons.
Our effluent management system is more stringent than that stipulated by law, and we regularly and continuously monitor effluent water quality. In addition to internal water quality tests, we also outsource offline sampling and water quality analysis to ensure that the ecology of the aquatic environment is under strict management.
At present, we have separately discharged and collected process chemicals from the plating station, and collected and discharged wastewater from the SMT washing machine, Deflash soaking machine, and laboratory wastewater in separate pipes, classified and recycled the wastewater, the wastewater was also treated according to the characteristics, to enhance the efficiency of the dedicated wastewater treatment.
