Energy Management and Climate Change

ATX is committed to improving our eco efficiency and protecting the environment by continuously enhancing resources recycling, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, waste generation, wastewater effluent, and chemical usage.

ATX strives to develop and promote an environmental friendly manufacturing and service concept in all facets of its enterprise. From material procurement, design, manufacturing, product use and disposal, we conscientiously incorporate environmental impact factors at all stages of life cycle to provide green and low carbon manufacturing services.

Energy Resource Management

Fossil Fuels (Non-renewable)

Fossil fuel use is dominated by petrol and diesel, with a total consumption of 950 GJ in 2023. Among which 70.0% of it is petrol, which is used in official vehicles.

Electricity and Renewable Energy Usage

ATX Group aims to strengthen its climate resilience by increasing the use of low-carbon energy and developing a diversified power supply portfolio. Total electricity consumption in 2023 is 158,556.20 MWh, resulting in a 9.4% reduction in electricity consumption compared to 2022. However, the performance has been affected by business, an increase in power intensity per unit of revenue is approximately 6.4%.

In addition, the KS plant has been purchasing renewable electricity since 2017 and will purchase 2016.7 MWh of renewable electricity in 2023. the Suzhou plant will have 0.9 MW of installed distributed PV capacity in 2023, with an estimated annual power generation capacity of 967.2 MWh, and has already achieved a cumulative power generation capacity of 330.9 MWh. the KS plant will also complete the second phase of PV in 2024 with an installed 3.76 MW of distributed PV capacity, with an estimated annual power generation capacity of 3,645 MWh. After completion, both plants are expected to account for 2.9% of the total electricity consumption. The KS plant will also have a second phase of 3.76MW of distributed PV installed in 2024, with a projected annual power generation capacity of 3,645 MWh, and renewable energy is expected to account for 2.9 per cent of the total power consumption of the two plants after completion.

GHG Emission

ATX greenhouse gas inventory and verification covers 100% of facilities, with a total emission about 108,904 tCO2e in 2023. We continue to promote carbon reduction projects, such as the construction of PV in Suzhou, the investment of PV phase II in Kunshan, other than the carbon reduction in the production and facility, ATX also actively promote green commuting and green office. ATX reduced greenhouse gas emission in scope 1, 2 & 3 by 8.9% in 2023 compared with the previous year.

Innovative energy-saving solutions

The 3 pillars of our carbon reduction strategy are low-carbon energy, process energy saving, and green buildings and facilities. 6 projects were carried out in 2023, effectively reducing 4,069 tCO2e in carbon emissions. In addition to using energy management systems to increase energy use efficiency, we also encourage and motivate facilities to strive towards efficiency improvements through technology sharing and competitions. Integrated the continuous development of low-carbon green buildings to manage and cut down on operational carbon emissions.
